11 Promises You Must Make to Yourself

The following are promises that, if kept, can improve anyone’s life. The first promise is, “I will accept everything I am, and everything I am not.” Too much time is wasted comparing ourselves to other people with different strengths and weaknesses. In order to gain true confidence and self-worth, we have to accept and understand who we are. The second promise is, “I will appreciate others for who they are.” Like the first promise, this involves accepting the realities of who other people are, rather than getting caught up in the way we would like them to be. It also requires careful consideration, because people are deeper than we sometimes imagine.
