Why Happiness Is a Choice

If you don’t believe that happiness is a choice and not a random occurrence, consider the following facts. Research shows that: 1) genetically, some of us are wired to be happier than others, but this only accounts for 50% of the equation, 2) our thoughts and actions are responsible for nearly 40% of our happiness, 3) only about 10% of the events in our life and our happiness are the results of sheer circumstance, 4) most of what we tell ourselves is not the truth. This means that every day we can make a choice to be happy or not. Choose wisely.
