Why Do Women Ask For a Divorce?

The AARP recently released a study that claims women initiate divorces the majority of the time in the United States.  The reasons women site most frequently are emotional neglect and verbal abuse. Some say that women typically make repeated attempts to repair the marriage before resorting to divorce. These attempts include therapy, self-help books, and engaging in dialogue with friends and family. Included in the article are remarks from women who describe the attitudes and behaviors that lead them to the ultimate decision to divorce. Accumulated years of the husband not listening, not being affectionate, and not pitching in with chores were some reasons listed.
