True Self—Focus on the Cause, Not the Symptoms

There is an underlying cause to why people feel dissatisfied, unmotivated, or unfulfilled. Changing careers or partners or whatever the feelings of dissatisfaction are directed towards can solve things temporarily, like taking a medicine to relieve symptoms, but eventually the same feelings can return. The root of the dissatisfaction may be something internal, and fixing the cause of dissatisfaction may involve taking personal responsibility for those feelings. If the feelings are the symptoms of some internal conflict, solving the conflict will resolve the feelings. There are five steps involved in resolving an internal conflict. The first is to clearly identify your core values.
