Placing Your Devotion

Jack Kornfield recounts his recent trip to the French Alps to visit an internationally renowned potter, Jean Christophe Hermann, who gave him some inspiring perspective on how to “place your devotion.” In this busy modern world, it is difficult to find time to really assess what our passions are, but amidst the slow creation process of pottery, Kornfield found some time, space, and silence to tap into philosophies that espouse a slower way of life. He found that, among all the things we need to juggle in our lives, finding something we can be devoted to should be near the top of the list.
