How to Maintain Composure in the Face of Adversity

Instead of falling back into past patterns of behavior in the face of adversity try one or more of these steps to inject some balance and peace into an otherwise stressful situation. Remember to give yourself time to process; ignoring a situation can sometimes serve to make things worse. Avoid knee-jerk reactions; take time to make a considered decision before taking action. Stop resisting the circumstances and look for ways to accept what is. Consider the possibilities: does it have to be this way? Look at your previous setbacks and learn from them. Go past the point of no return: commit fully to a new pattern and be brave.
